The Parkes Pantherettes were warming up for their night game against Cowra. A big almighty wind was howling across towards the Harvey Norman Furniture end, luckily for us it was the end we were kicking to as the game began. The Panthers were eager to get the ball into the forward 50 and get some scoreboard pressure on early. Korine Coleman started the Pantherettes off by kicking two behinds early in the game. As the quarter went on, the Pantherettes were able to consistently keep the ball locked inside their forward 50. Felicity Ralph scored her first goal of the season as she used the ol' "Dusty Martin" don't argue move, and slotted a goal! Followed by captain Emma 'Baz' Barry who also got the shiny yellow Sherrin onto her boot and scored two goals for the quarter. Ally Hetherington and Lauren Andrews kept the scoreboard ticking over as another four behinds were kicked. Cowra were held scoreless.

The Panthers defence had to work hard together to force the ball out of the danger zone and keep Cowra's scoring to as little as possible. Panthers stood strong and were able to stabilize themselves, Cowra managed to score one goal and three behinds. Whilst Ally Hetherington scored a behind for the Panthers.
Half-Time and Parkes were up by 14 points at the main break. Full of confidence and spirit, Parkes knew they had to be bold in order to maintain the scoreboard pressure as they were kicking with the wind. Players player Alyssa 'Smiley' Miller ran like "Forest Gump" as she never gave up a chase, and got to the contest gaining multiple contested possessions and often finding a target to kick to. Emma Barry proved to be too mighty for the Cowra defence as she used her lanky legs to boot a goal. Lauren Andrews just bolted and weaved her magic to score a goal. Korine Coleman backed up her earlier efforts by scoring two goals to further Parkes’ lead. Cowra scored a behind for the quarter.
Final quarter and a hard fought battle to the bitter sweet end, as the Pantherettes were up by 39 points. Felicity Ralph continued using her signature 'don't argue' move out of the centre square and putting Cowra in their place. Parkes defence knew they would eventually be put under pressure with the ball quickly floating through the windy air. Cowra scored two behinds. With outstanding efforts from our midfielders Alex Briton and Kimberley Dixon they were able to force the ball into the forward line and find many targets such as Emma Barry, Lauren Andrews and Ally Hetherington, as they all scored goals for the quarter, with four behinds also kicked to add to the total.
Coach Ralph excitingly stated "Fantastic win by the girls for the last home game of the year. Their skills have improved out of sight this year. With two games left we are looking forward to finishing the year off strong."
