Northparkes Mines continue to be the principle sponsor on the day.
The Mines have been very supportive of this research into prostate cancer.
Prostate Cancer continues to be the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men.
When you consider that over 20,000 men are found with prostate cancer each year and that 3,500 died because of it over the same period, you get some idea how widespread it is.
Yet, men continue to ignore the signs to take a few simple steps to address the process of something that would prevent them joining the latter statistics.
Any young man, forty years of age, with a family history of prostate cancer, or any kind of cancer, must visit their doctor to ensure that they do not have cancer or have it treated before it becomes a problem, and all men, aged fifty, should do likewise.
The experts are making progress in attempting to find the cause and a cure for prostate cancer, but still a lot has to be done.
This is why the likes on the Northparkes Mines continue to support events such as the Charity Golf Day on Sunday.
The Parkes Prostate Cancer Awareness and Support Group is the coordinating organisation on this day, in conjunction with the Parkes Golf Club.
This Group have now been meeting for the past four years in an effort to make highlight awareness of this cancer and to support those men and their families who have been through the treatment.
They are appreciative for the continued support the Mines and, indeed, the community of Parkes, have given them in their efforts.
So, you are asked once again to continue this support on Sunday, August 19th by joining the golfers and hackers for a bit of fun at the Parkes Golf Club.
