The work involves excavating test pits and sampling the road along a two kilometre section of road at both locations.
The work will be undertaken within the travel lanes and shoulders of the road.
Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 July, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions including lane closures and reduced speed zones will be in place for the safety of workers and road users during work hours.
Motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of traffic control and all signs, including reduced speed limits.
Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
