It has come to our attention that people have been door knocking in the Parkes area, seeking donations for Can Assist Parkes branch.
Please note that this is not a Can Assist policy and we never door knock for donations.
Anyone with any information about such activities is asked to contact Parkes police on 6862 9999.
POLICE NEWS:
Parkes police have arrested and charged two men after a serious assault on Friday, July 13.
The assault took place in the foyer of the Parkes Services Club at 4pm.
The victim, a 45-year-old Parkes man, received injuries to his face and was knocked to the ground.
Jeremy Kelly (22) and Adam Hetherington (18) have both been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
They were granted conditional bail and will appear in Parkes Local Court on September 3.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault to contact them.

Police were called to two large white dogs attacking a lamb on a property in Farrer Street on Wednesday night.
The dogs were seized by Parkes Shire Council Rangers.
It is believed the lamb survived the attack.
