Chief Inspector David Cooper said with the end of the school holidays comes an increase in traffic on our roads.
“Parkes Police are imploring motorists to slow down and drive to the prevailing road conditions,” Chief Inspector Cooper said.
“Our country roads feature far too often in road crashes and fatalities and we want everyone to get home to their loved ones safely.
“Speed, fatigue and impairment through alcohol and/or drugs are all contributing factors but what Police ask is for everyone to just slow down; get there a bit late rather than not at all.
“There will be an increased Police presence across all of the Parkes Shire road network starting today and across the weekend.”
