Brett has represented Australia overseas twice before, in America and the Czech Republic where he finished with a gold medal.
This time he goes overseas as an Australian representative with the added responsibility of being number one qualifier in the “A” team and overall team captain.
Australia is sending three teams to the championships, all are mixed, ladies and men.
The first two days they compete as a team with their combined scores to decide placings, followed by two days competing as individuals.
All competitors use custom built competition specific rifles.
Brett has built his own rifles and many of the other rifles used by his team mates.
The 3rd World Rimfire Championship will be held between the 23th and 28rd of July 2018.
Benchrest is a precision rifle shooting discipline where shooters aim to put five or 10 shots into the smallest possible group on paper targets placed at 50m, 100, 200 and 300 yards.
Groups are measured from the centre to the centre of the two widest shots in a group.
Rifles are fired from rests, comprising a front rest to support the fore-end and a rear sandbag for support.
