Women’s Bowling
Windy conditions made bowling a challenge this week. Two matches of Club Championship Triples were played with Betsy Johnstone, Brenda Davies, Liz Byrne def Lorraine Baker, Maureen Miller, Kim Evans. Gwenda Carty, Cherie Frame, Rhona Went def Chris Curteis,, Chris Cox, Frances Charlton.

The draw for the second Round to be played on July 24 as follows:
Merilyn Rodgers, Marja Iffland, Maree Grant v Gwenda Carty, Cherie Frame, Rhona Went.
Betsy Johnstone, Brenda Davies, Liz Byrne v Minnie Riordan, Audrey Jones, Joan Simpson.
In other triples played this week Flo Riseborough, Rosemary Mitchell, Maureen Baillee def Isabel Svendsen, Audrey Jones, Minnie Riordan.
Di Howell, Margaret Hawken, Joan Simpson def Jan McPhee, Marja Iffland, Merilyn Rodgers.
Winners for the day were Di, Margaret, Joan and r/ups Jan, Marja and Merilyn
The Trading Table was a great success with many lovely prizes. The Raffle was won by Isabel Svendsen.
Next week our club will be playing in the Regional Playoffs at Gulgong in the Pairs and Fours and we wish them the best of luck. If successful they will play in the State Finals.
All members are invited to play in the Century 21 sponsored, 2 bowl Pairs on Sunday 22nd July.
Names in by 10am with a 1pm start. Open to men and women.

Railway Bowls
Last weekend saw bowlers on the greens catching up with matches to be played five matches were played overall in the minor Pairs match.
Pig Phillips and Garry Phillips played Clive Stibbard and Matt Mcgrath with victory going to Clive and Matt 23 - 15.
Another win for previous Clive Stibbard and Matt Mcgrath defeating Geoff Leonard and Terry Hetherington 21-17.
In major Triples matches Clive Stibbard, Col Boehm and Lee Hetherington defeated Graham Cole, Graham Thomson and Ben McNaughton 19-14 in a very close contestant match.
Ben’s team went down five shots on one end which didn't help the cause but full credit to Lees team were too good on the day.
Ron Murray, Nev Currey and Terry Hetherington caused an upset defeating a much younger team in Pav Cross, Josh Coleman and Tony Peisley 19-18.
Terry's team were down 15-18 with three ends to go and picked up four shots to take out the match.
In an exciting game of Triples Alan Cameron, Kevin Wales and Geoff Leonard defeated Jason Gosper,Mick Valentine and John Corcoran 21-16.
Corkey’s team had a handy 12-5 lead on the 11th end but went down five shots which didn't help the cause.

Bogan Gate Golf
Well the icy cold winds have been making golf a bit of a hazard and difficult to stay focused, never the less Sunday, June 30 was a glorious day to play golf
the club held an 18 hole Par event with a good roll-up of players, Mens winner was Graeme Hunter with a score of -two.
Runner-up on a c/b was Ron Boness on – three Ladies winner was Maureen Boness with a score of – seven.
(a really difficult day for all players as you can see by the scores).
Saturday, July 7 the club held an 18 hole Stableford with a small number of players.
Winner was Anthony Bratton with a good score of 41 points Nearest the pin on the sixth and 15th was Paul Gardiner
Sunday, July 15 the club held the 27 hole members foursomes for the men and ladies ( held together for the first time, and went really well).
Men’s winners for 2018 were the pairing of George Falvey and Steve Edwards with a 27 hole total of 125,
Runners-up was the pairing of Ron Boness and Graeme Hunter with a score of 129 for the 27 holes Nearest the pin on the sixth and 15th was George Falvey.
Ladies winner was the pairing of Marion McIntyre and Maureen Boness with a score of 153 for the 27 holes.
Runners-up were the pairing of Shirley Nutley and Di Cornelissen with a score of 178.
Dragon’s Lair
Sunday 15.07.2018. the Parkes Services Social Golfers once again donned on the Beanies to play a 4.B.B.B. aggregate with delayed draw for partners
for the Len Archer and Bill Warren Trophies.
Winners on the day were the Team of Lyn Davison and Tom Delmenico with 83 Stableford Points.
Rumour has it that Tom accumulated some 46 Points on the day knowing full well the H/Cap deduction would only be two shots being a 4.B.B.B.
Runner ups were Rodney Luyt and Robert Rea (aka Captain Chop with 75 Points).Watch your back Tom.
Ladies Nearest the Pins went to Margaret Hogan with a double taking out both the fourth and 11th holes.
Mens Nearest the Pins, first Tom Delmenico, fourth Dale Stait, sixth Dale Stait and 11th Rodney Luyt with a Birdie.
Kap Palenapa-Pili & Ray Cabban also grabbed a double winning both the Lucky Card Draw & the Bunny Award to keep them warm.
Raffle Winner was Richard Hamilton with Golf Balls going to Richard Wells, Reg Davison & Robert Rea.
Next week we play a Stableford Event for Sue Smith's Trophy with Paul Murray supplying the Raffle.
Could someone please help me find the Mighty Dragon's as they have been missing now for two weeks. Go the Dragons.

Parkes SSAA Sports Clays
At the last months shoot nine shooters shot in a 80 target day with two events. Event one, Sixty target known rise using six auto clay throwers. Brian Drabsch 51, Clinton Duffy 48, Bryan Rickaby 47, David Wilson 44, Dave Tanks 40, John Patrick 39, Dan Morgan and David Penberthy 36 each, Saun Russell 25.
Event two twenty target twin rise with on outward and one inwards at the same time. Brian Drabsch 17, Saun Russell and David Tanks 15 each, David Wilson and John Patrick 14 each, Bryan Rickaby and Clinton Duffy 13 each, David Penberthy and Dan Morgan 12 each. Our next shoot is at 1pm Saturday, July 21 and will be similar to above.
Parkes SSAA Smallbore
Last weekend we saw only five shooters attend the Deep Lead range. Shooting at new ordinary targets at both 25 and 50 meters for a maximum of 550 points.
