The driver was not seriously injured in the accident which occurred on the turn before the Forbes Road intersection, taken to Parkes Hospital as a precaution only.
The accident occurred at approximately 7.55am when the driver of the truck, a 54-year-old Parkes man, was unable to negotiate the turn and the truck rolled onto it’s left hand side, damaging an exclusion fence.
Police said it appeared the truck had taken the corner too fast, or the load had shifted, and rolled onto it’s side, causing minor damage.
The truck was carrying a load of scrap metal bound for Blacktown.
Traffic was controlled with little to no delays at the time of the accident.
The road was closed for approximately two hours while a crane righted the truck before it was towed away.
Council had diversions in place, minimising traffic impact.
