Out of the four players, the best and worst score on each hole counted towards the team’s score.
This put pressure on each player not to have a bad hole as it would still count towards the team score.
“Everyone I spoke to said they really enjoyed the format,” Parkes Golf Club president Mark Kelly said.
“One visitor enjoyed the concept so much he said he was going to take it back to his home club and use it.
“Everyone liked it as even if you were playing bad, you were still in the event.”
Duncan Constable, Brett Cowling, Wayne Powter and Richard Hamilton combined the best on the day to score 75 points and claim a commanding seven shot victory.
Next best were Reg Davison, Brian Hogan Snr, Peter picker and Ian Phipps with 68 points.
Third place went to John Green, Kyle Hutchings, Todd Jayet and Mark Kelly on 67 points while Warren Blatch, Tim Burke, Richard Hutchison and Jarrod Kemp were fourth with 66 points.
Saturday was also the third round of the Handiskins.

Ian Phipps, a former national Handiskins champion, scored 41 points to put himself in with a great chance of making the local final again.
Phipps’ round got off to a good start, claiming the nearest the pin on the Idlerite-Tyrepower 1st hole with a tee shot to 566cm.
Tony Lock was closest on the Griffins Leading Edge 4th hole, putting for birdie from 390cm.
Glen Buesnell must have thought he was close to a hole-in-one as he walked up the hill towards the flag on the Dirt Doctor 6th hole.
He was not far away, finishing only 109cm from the cup.
Brian Hogan Jnr claimed the double on the Harvey Norman 11th hole.
Hogan won the nearest the pin, and in doing so also claimed the money hole, with his tee shot to 105cm.
On the tough Westlime 15th hole, Todd Jayet put a good swing on his tee shot to finish closest at 300cm.
Rob Hey hit a good approach into the Parkes Readymixed Concrete 9th hole.
His shot in finished only 216cm from the flag.
Myles Smith claimed the last prize of the day, finishing closest on the Central West Glass 18th hole.
Smith had little more than a tap in for birdie after his approach finished 76cm from the cup.
This Saturday, members will compete in an 18 hole stableford sponsored by Whites Electrical.
The following week will see members compete in an 18 hole two ball stableford multiplier sponsored by Signs By Greg.
The Saturday after that, August 4, is the S & K Mann Carpet Cleaning monthly medal.
