The trailers will travel daily between Parkes and western Sydney.
Parkes Shire Council’s Economic and Business Development Manager Anna Willie says the new marketing initiative is part of the Parkes National Logistics Hub strategic marketing campaign that has been in market since March this year.
“The truck back advertising forms part of the wider Parkes National Logistics Hub marketing program to build appeal and attract investment from new and existing business operators to relocate out of metropolitan areas to Parkes to take advantage of our unique supply chain solutions,” Ms Willie said.
“The advertising will be in market for six months with the aim to appeal to manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and other supply chain companies in the western Sydney industrial parks to consider re-location or investment in the Parkes National Logistics Hub.”
The Parkes National Logistics Hub is a 600 hectare intermodal estate, uniquely positioned at the intersection of the East/West rail line, the North/South Newell Highway, and the new $10 billion Inland Rail.
“These are exciting and opportune times for logistics across the nation, particularly for regional like Parkes, as they develop as critical freight hubs along the new Inland Rail route.”
The campaign dovetails perfectly with the conduct of the 2018 Inland Rail Conference to be held in Parkes this week from the July 18 to 19.
More than 350 delegates are set to converge on Parkes for the conference with a huge range of industry representatives, government agencies and officials in attendance to discuss this major infrastructure project that will be catalyst for change in freight movement across Australia.
“We are on the verge of something big,” Ms Willie said.
"The vision is huge, and the opportunity is absolutely immense,” she said..
