In the pairs Joe Crowley Arthur Corbett 12 were defeated by two senior players in Gordon Dickson John Ward 23, who led all the way.
Rob Irving Col Hayward 32 defeated John Watson Col Mudie 11, Ray Jones Guy Ellery 23 defeated Graham Barby Keith MacRae 10. Steve Ryan Geoff Freeman 22 defeated Jim Blake John Corcoran 15.
In the triples game Greg Huggins Bob Freeman Wally Grant 29 defeated Bill Skinner Trevor Harvey Steve Mills 9.
Wally Grant's team led all the way from start to finish in convincing fashion and confined the opposition to winning just five ends. Winners on the day were Steve Ryan and Geoff Freeman with the runners up being the triples game of Greg Huggins Bob Freeman Wally Grant.
With wet conditions on Saturday just one game of minor singles was played.
The results of that was Greg Huggins 31, Les Kent 29. Les led handsomely throughout the match until the 25th end when the score was 25 all, and 32nd end 29 all.
Greg picked up a one on the next two ends to run out the winner. Truly a nail biter.
Also on the weekend, Greg Howlett contested the semifinals of the Zone 4 Presidents Singles at Dubbo Railway Bowling Club.
After winning his first game on Saturday morning, he was beaten in the next game in the afternoon.
Greg had won the right to play at Dubbo by winning the previous weekend in a field of 16 bowlers at the Parkes Railway Diggers Bowling Club. He should be proud of this achievement.
Next weekend Gary Carberry and Michael Went winners of the Championship Pairs at the Parkes Bowling and Sports Club will travel to Condobolin to contest the Zone 4 Champion of Club Champions.
Paul Went will travel to Orange on the weekend of the 21st to contest the Zone 4 Champion of Club Champions. Well done to Gary and the Went boys.
Bowlers are reminded of the Hunters Real Estate sponsored two bowl pairs tournament on July 22.
This will consist of three games of ten ends. Names to be in by 10am for as 1pm start.
A Pennant trail will be conducted at the Parkes Railway Diggers Bowling Club, and a return game at Parkes on the 12th August to prepare players for the State Playoffs in August.
Bowlers are reminded of the Annual General Meeting to be held on the August 7, with prospective nominations to close on the July 31.
This is the chance for all members to help out in the running of the club for the following twelve months.

Publicity Officer Evelyn Gibson. Bowls secretary and Selection Evelyn Gibson also on selection is Catherine Ann Currey and June Wade.Hospital visitors are Shirley Bishop and Norma Pollock.
Looking forward to working together for next year.
Results of club match played on Monday, July 2 was Samantha Teague and Lea Tanks defeated Gail Ford and Tracey Dixon this was good game.
The other pairs games can be played ASAP by agreement with oppossing teams.

Also to Zita Mcgirr who is in Parkes hospital hope she will be feeling better soon.

Pluggas defeat Twist Tops 6-1 with players player going to Darrell Bailey and Jayden Capple. High scores were Darrell Bailey 140, 7x 100. Michael Dunn 160, 121, 2x 100. Brad Parker 3x 100. Gary Barber 127, 104. Jayden Capple 123, 2x 100. Troy Daroczy 125, 2x 100.
Top Flights defeat Strikers 7-0 with players player going to Mick Herft and Leah Roberts. High scores were Mick Herft 140, 134, 131. George Corcoran 100. Dave Rogan 135, 166, 3x 100. Leah Roberts 116.
Budgies defeat Warriors 4-3 with players player going to Jake Tonkin and Lee Davis. High scores were Jake Tonkin 120, 100. Brett Jones 120, 100. Jed Whiteman 135. Lee Davis 100. Ray James Jnr 125. Aamon Delaney 116.

Veteran’s Golf
The combined veteran golfers from Parkes and Forbes, thirty-three in number, played on the Parkes course last Thursday in pleasant weather conditions.
The winner on the day was local lad, Dale Stait, on a coun-tback from Geoff Drane (Fbs), both on 26 points.
The encouragement award was a three-way contest between, Greg Webb (Fbs), Ron Jackson (Pks) and the eventual winner, John O’Shannessy (Pks).
The nearest the pins winners, in A Grade, were Peter Bristol (Pks) and Alf Davies (Fbs) and Ross Williams (Fbs) had a double in B Grade. Forbes continued their winning way in the Mick Miller Shield, 149 to 141.
This week we play at Forbes and we return to Forbes, the following week, for the Lachlan Valley 18 Holes Competition, commencing at 10am.
The Parkes veterans will have their Annual General Meeting on Thursday, July 26 after the game.

Bogan Gate Golf
It was good to see a good roll up for the Ladies and Men’s Championships over the week ends of the June 17 and 24.
The inclement weather of icy cold winds on the 17th and a pleasant day on the 24th ensured we finished the 54 holes and 36 holes respectively.
A grade champion for 2018 in the Mens was Ron Boness with a 54 hole Scatch score of 244, runner up was Robert McIntyre with a 54 hole score of 296.
Nearest the pin on sixth and 15th was Neal Herbert. Captains Trophy was won by Ron Boness with a net score over 27 holes of 108.5. Presidents Trophy on the 24th was won by Tony Bratton with a net score of 107.
Ladies club Champion for 2018 was Marion McIntyre with a 36 hole scatch score of 223, runner-up with a score of 224 was Di Cornelissen. Handicap 36 hole winner was Di Cornelissen with a net score of 158.
Racing
Rehanaat, trained at Parkes by Sharon Jeffries for Phil Easman, made it four Cup wins from the last five starts when taking out the feature race at Nyngan on Saturday.
Ridden by Scone based Ashley Boyd,Rehanaat ( $5.50 ) travelled in fourth position and then finished strongly down the centre of the track to win the Three Rivers Machinery Duck Creek Picnic Cup ( 1250 metres ) by a length from Austin ( Maddison Wright, $4.20 ) And Flatley’s Fortune ( Wesley Boyd, $7.50 ).
Following a win in the Trangie Gold Cup, the six year old chestnut mare Rehanaat won the Grenfell Picnic Cup and then was a dead heat for first with Track Flash in the Marthaguy Picnic Cup before finishing fourth in the Gulgong Cup and winning the Cup at Duck Creek Picnics held at Nyngan.
