The boys all played well and fought hard.
They are developing some great skills in defence and running plays with great free flowing ball play.
Jaylin Moran showed exceptional leadership with Jayden Kuhn receiving man of the match.
The under 9s are sure to have a great season.
Under 10s
Andrew Thomas Building under 10s played yet another hard game last weekend against Forbes Magpies.
The score was going one for one throughout much of the game. Parkes tries were scored by Kade Ticehurst, Beau Shearer, Rhys Thompson and Linc James.
The boys all played exceptionally well with extremely strong defence protecting their try line and not letting a try be scored through three sets of six on their line.
Mention must go to the team work that moved the ball down the line to the flying winger, Linc James who made short work of the Forbes defence scoring his first ever try.
The blistering winds played havoc with our kicking.
Final score 30-24. This week’s player’s player went to Ryan Whitney.
Junior League Tag
A good win was achieved by the Ex-services Club and McPhersons Spare Parts Junior League Tag team on Saturday against Forbes.
The girls are improving each week and walked away with a 44 -24 win.
Under 12s
The Central West Sheds under 12s started the game with a knock on from the kickoff. Forbes had the perfect start, a turnover on the ten metre line.
The defence of Joe Monk, Sterling Green and Toby Cox helped prevent Forbes from scoring. After the initial onslaught the game turned into a cracker.
It went from one end of the field to the other. In attack Jack Milne, Oliver Thomas and Rhys James kept Forbes defence busy.
When Forbes tried to swing the ball wide, Dean Robinson and Ashley Hayward were reading the plays and shutting down their attack. At half time the score was 0 all.
The second half started awesome it wasn’t long before Daniel Hando barged over to score from Dummy Half. Marley Moran converted the try with a beautiful strike of the ball.
The game then went into a tug of war - just like the first half. Forbes managed to get two tries to be leading 10 – 6.
With only minutes to go - Jack Milne kicked across field to Deegan Ingram who scooped up the ball and headed for the corner post only to be denied a try by a desperate Forbes side.
Final score Forbes 10 – Parkes 6.
Under 14s
Sport power under 14s played their first home game against Forbes on the weekend. It was a tough game as Forbes had some very quick players who managed to find gaps.
Although Parkes gave chase with Kaid Lydford making solid ground every time, Forbes were hard to stop giving them a strong lead.
Parkes gained possession and good teamwork saw Mason Leedham, Charlie Mahon and Wilson Duffy make ground as Austin Macgregor pushed through to score, conversion was unsuccessful.
Forbes continued their attack and had a lead, 32 - 4 at half-time. Defense continued to work hard with big hits from Toby Miller.
Tackles came from Brian Mendoza, Mac Rauchle, Dylan Wood and Jackson Parker-Lee. Jake Herring showed commitment following through with what he set out to do.
Richard Butt-Anderson had amazing hands, catching a kick to give Parkes possession and running it up to set up the next set.
Charlie Oraha, Charlie Mahon and Alex DeLacy moved the ball forward as Toby Miller looked for the gap to get the ball over the line and successfully converting.
Kade Crisp gave good chase with Kaid Lydford to catch another breakaway Forbes player.
A Forbes error gave Parkes possession from the scrum and quick play, with quick passes saw Austin Macgregor turn it into points. Conversion was unsuccessful.
Although some good plays from the Parkes boys Forbes were too strong with the final score 56 -14.
