Foursomes sees pairs hit one ball in turn.
John Green and Peter Dixon are defending champions, having been the most successful pairing in recent years.
The duo have secured six titles and will likely be the team to beat this weekend.
“We seem to go alright because we really enjoy the format and just go out to have some fun,” John Green said.
“We combine well and compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
“Some groups struggle after a bad shot, but we do not let a bad shot get us down, in fact we find it quite funny.
“We just get on with the next shot and try to recover.”
A number of groups will be chasing the defending champions and Green believes an unlikely pair could pose the most threat.
“Phil Barnard and Denis Howard could be our main opposition,” Green said.
“If they can put 36 holes together they will come pretty close.
“They have been there or there about the last couple of years.
“It will be interesting to see how they end up.”
“Some pairs have not been confirmed as starters yet due to work commitments.
“However, there are a number of very good golfers who if they were to pair up, they could be a real chance.”
The foursomes are played on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
Pairs need to put their names on the starters sheet as per usual.
