The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is undertaking its next phase of industry engagement for the Inland Rail project with city-based industry briefing sessions planned this month.
The sessions are being live streamed to enable regional stakeholders including Parkes Shire locals to tune in and view the presentations.
The next sessions will be held in Melbourne, Tuesday, May 15 9am-11am and Sydney, Wednesday, May 16 9am-11am.
The sessions will provide information about opportunities for private sector participation in Inland Rail, current scheduling, requirements for businesses to work on Inland Rail, and an update on the status of the Private Public Partnership section of work. Following the industry briefings there will be a market testing process.
A report by Regional Development Central West found that around 490 new jobs could be created in the region during the construction phase.
“These sessions are a great opportunity for local businesses to be part of the process and understand the requirements,” Parkes Shire Mayor Ken Keith OAM said.
“We are well positioned to benefit from the economic and supply chain development associated with the project and these sessions will detail the opportunities for local industry to be involved in the delivery of the Inland Rail.”
