On Tuesday, he met with Forbes mayor Graeme Miller, community and Forbes school members where he was able to talk about some of his experiences.
The Apostolic or Papal Nuncio is the Pope’s ambassador to Australia and has both diplomatic and ecclesiastical duties.
He serves as the liaison between the Holy See – The Government of the Vatican – and the Catholic Church in Australia.
The Papal Nuncio represents the Pope and the Catholic Church as an ambassador in various countries.
During his time in the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese, Archbishop Adolfo will travel with Bishop Columba to Broken Hill and Wilcannia, stopping in various towns to meet local community members.
On Sunday, he will attend Mass and a morning tea at Holy Family Church in Parkes on Sunday from 9.30am.
Archbishop Adolfo said a major part of his role is to promote peace and understanding and represent the Pope wherever he goes.
Archbishop Adolfo was born in Naga City in the Philippines in February 1948 and was ordained as a priest on 19 March 1972 for the Archdiocese of Caceres.
As a student of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome, he followed the post-graduate studies in International Diplomacy.
Archbishop Adolfo entered the Diplomatic Service of the Holy See in February 1984, serving as Apostolic Nuncio in various countries including Ghana, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Lebanon, Hungary and China.
Archbishop Adolfo has been the Apostolic Nuncio to Australia since 2015.
