Unfortunately, all three sides fell short in a disappointing result for the club.
While not successful, all Parkes teams fought well and showed sportsmanship.
The Division 2 semi-final saw Parkes up against Mudgee in a replay of last year’s final.
Unfortunately for Parkes, the result was the same as last year as Mudgee ran out 3-2 victors.
In a very close contest, three matches needed extra holes to be decided.
Phil Barnard (1 up) and Joe van Opynen (19th) won their matches while Brendan Chambers (19th), Tim Burke (1 down) and John Green (19th) were defeated.
Division 3 faced off against Wentworth, going down 3-2 as well.
Richard Hutchison (6 and 5) and Jake Hodge (4 and 3) both won convincingly while Todd Jayet (1 down), Peter Bristol (1 down) and Mick Smith (2 and 1) all showed good spirit.
Parkes’ Division 4 side found the going very tough in their semi-final against Wellington.
Parkes went down 4-1 to end their season.
David Harwood won the sole match for Parkes, claiming victory 1 up.
Terry Walsh (2 down), Finne Latu (1 down), Jarrod Kemp (2 down), and Justin Ward (2 down) all put in strong efforts.
“While it was a disappointing end to our pennants season, we would not have got this far without Central West Glass Parkes,” club captain Peter Dixon said.
