Hot scoring was the feature of the day as Parkes Golf Club hosted the Telescope Tyres and Batteries March Monthly Medal sponsored by Brian Collins Smash Repairs and Parkes Caravans.

This was especially the case in B Grade where Chad Porter claimed the double.
Porter won the B Grade scratch with an excellent 79 off the stick.
His scratch score was also good enough to win the handicap with 65 nett, although it was via a countback.
Rob Hey continued his strong form, winning the A Grade scratch with a one over 72.
Myles Smith took out the handicap in the same division with 67 nett.
Peter Dixon was the unlucky player in both the scratch and handicap, losing both via a countback.
C Grade was a much more straightforward affair with Kyle Hutchings claiming the scratch award with 87 off the stick.
John Pearce took out the handicap with a very impressive 66 nett, winning via a countback.
Other notable scores included Graham Cooke with 66 nett, laurie Wakefield and Peter Dixon with 67, Ron Hetherington and Aaron Wilkie with 68, and Dub Rodgers and P. Samuelson (Wagga) 69.
Rob Lea won the Griffins Leading Edge putting competition.
In the nearest the pins, Ken Cobroft got off to a good start, finishing closest on the Idlerite-Tyrepower 1st hole at 420cm.
On the Griffins Leading Edge 4th hole, Rob Lea hit a great tee shot to 99cm to be closest.
Bob Barter hit his tee shot to 354cm on the Dirt Doctor Landscaping 6th hole to win the award.
On thew Harvey Norman 11th hole, Graham Cooke won both the nearest the pin and the money hole award with his tee shot which finished 153cm from the flag.
Paul Appleby hit a good tee shot on the Westlime 15th hole, putting for birdie from only 196cm.
Ken Cobcroft continued a solid day with his irons on the Parkes Readymixed Concrete 9th hole.
His approach to the par four finished 350cm from the pin.
On the Central West Glass Parkes 18th hole, Anthony Riach left himself a tap in for birdie by hitting his approach to 22cm.
This Saturday, Parkes Golf Club members will compete in an 18 hole two person aggregate stableford sponsored by Quick Shine Car Wash.
In what is sure to be a fun day, there will be a long drive competition on the 16th hole, lucky door prize at presentations, a free sausage sizzle and drink at the Halfway House, and free nibbles in the clubhouse after golf.
