Junior Tennis

Another great week for Parkes juniors with Jake Magill finishing runner-up at the NSW CHS Open Boys Singles Championships and Ellen Dolbel and Lily McCormick gaining Western PSSA Selections. Jake along with Ben Evans travelled to Sydney to compete in the CHS Championships and also try to qualify for the NSW Open Boys All Schools Team Final selection round. In a big 128 player draw Ben was eliminated in the round of 32 by sixth seed and also sixth ranked 14 year old in Australia Taj Hibbert from Endeavour Sports High. Jake carried the local flag and went through to the final where he was beaten by the Number 1 seed Trent Marlin from Camden High. Jake will now progress to the final 32 including Combined Catholic College and Combined Independent School players to play for a place in the eight player team to compete at the Nationals.
