Relay teams, consisting of school students and members of various community groups and organisations, will take turns swimming laps over the course of four hours.
The Parkes Life Action Group invites everyone to go along and have a fun day at the pool and help raise much needed funds for the Life Education Van.
“All schools, business houses, community groups, sporting groups and anyone wishing to participate are welcome,” Wendy Neville (Parkes Life Action Group) said.
“If you cannot do your laps on the day you can do them at any time up until March 18.”
Entry forms can be picked up from the Champion Post Office, Absolutely Hair (207 Clarinda Street) and the Parkes Shire Council Office.
“Parkes Shire Council has offered a Free Pool Day including free inflatable play for an hour and free Zooper Dooper ice blocks (to be redeemed this calendar year) to all participants of the winning school,” Wendy said.
For over 35 years Healthy Harold and the Life Education Van have been providing an invaluable service to the community through education around healthy living and positive lifestyle choices.
“The Life Education Van does valuable work for the community, so let’s play our part in ensuring this can continue with our children in teaching healthy lifestyle choices,” Wendy said.
“This year the group is again asking for your support to make sure this community service can continue.”
