Christmas Charity Muster – with so many activities taking place on the same night, numbers were down a little on previous years but we were still pleased to be able to donate the door proceeds of $300 to Can-Assist.
While Lindy Charlton, Bruce Toole, Ken Chalker, Robert Charlton, Sarah, Hayley and Caleah Charlton and Josh Finn, Cynthia Jones, Ian Mill and Stephen Cheney entertained the audience the real star of the evening was a visit from “Santa”.
Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of Long Service and Dedication Awards to John and Chris De Dobbelaar.
There were lots of winners on the night with raffles, lucky doors, lucky numbers, spot prizes and several other competitions and member’s draws.
Our Treasurer Frances was kept busy with the re-enrolments during the evening.
Thank you again to those members who made up the backing band.
“Welcome to Elvis” Muster – this was to be held at the Parkes Showground undercover area on Sunday, January 7, but due to the extreme heat and our duty of care to members, performers and visitors the decision was made to cancel this event.
The temperature had soared into the mid 40’s.
However the weather did eventually settle down later in the week for the successful running of the Elvis Festival.
Congratulations to all involved.
January Muster – following on from our successful Christmas Charity Muster and a very busy Elvis Festival we held our first 2018 muster on Saturday, January 20, with Vicki Walsh (Young) and Alex Winnell (Cootamundra) as featured performers.
All members are now looking forward to our February 18 Muster.
An updated calendar of events has been drawn up and available at musters for members and interested persons.
With the change of day for our upcoming muster to Sunday, February 18, we hope members are able to take advantage of this and also attend the function at Yeoval on Saturday, February 17, featuring Anne Kirkpatrick (Slim Dusty’s daughter).
Keep up to date with our musters and goings on, as well neighbouring Country Music Associations by picking up a Newsletter (produced by member Dale Cowell) at our Monthly Musters.
