Twenty two bowlers played resulting in one game of triples and four games of pairs. In the triples game, Rob Irving, Bob Freeman and Guy Ellery led throughout to defeat Wal Grant, Greg Huggins and Keith McRae 20 to nine.
Martin Tighe and John Taylor surprised everyone by easily defeating Jim Blake and Ron Hornery 28 to eight.
Ray Jones and Colin Mudie played consistently to defeat Graham Dixon and Nimo Mills 22 to 14. John Ward and Tom Furey led Graham Barby and Garry McPhee ten to two after five ends but Graham and Garry won six of the next seven ends to lead 14 to 11, and they continued on to win comfortably 24 to 19. Geoff Freeman and Les Kent had a good lead 20 to 10 over Bill Skinner and Colin Hayward and despite Bill and Colin scoring seven shots on the 17th and 18th ends, Geoff and Les held their composure to win 24 to 17.

Saturday Bowls
Due to the extreme heat conditions, only ten players turned up to get a suntan.
Colin Mudie, Greg Townsend and John Taylor played Greg Howlett, Steve Ryan and Garry Phillips in a turn-around triples match and Colin’s team won an enjoyable game 26 to 21.
In the pairs match, Garry McPhee and Tom Furey played Greg Huggins and John Davies with Tom and Garry being successful 21 to 14.
