Parkes Police are urging festival goers and shopkeepers to be mindful of where their valuables are at all times during the street parade on Saturday.

Sergeant Jason Barker said there were a series of thefts last year.
“During the street parade a person took the opportunity to steal a number of possessions,” he said.
“That person was later charged, but not before handbags, mobile phones, a laptop and other items were stolen.
“If these items weren’t laying around they wouldn’t have been such easy targets.”
Sergeant Baker said it is important shopkeepers keep their rear doors locked and stallholders are vigilant.
“We had incidents last year where offenders entered shops through rear unlocked doors and helped themselves,” he said.

A scooter was stolen from outside Woolworths around 12.45pm on Monday.

Three large garden pots were stolen from a front yard in High Street between 9pm on Tuesday and 10.30am on Wednesday.
The pots are valued at $50.
