The students have returned home from the 2017 Pacific School Games, held in Adelaide from December 3-9.
Chloe Carty, Tommy Searl and Victoria Simpson from Holy Family were all selected in NSWPSSA teams to compete at the Games – Chloe and Tommy in hockey and Victoria in athletics.
Chloe received a silver medal in the girls hockey, while Tommy came fourth in the under 12s boys and Victoria fourth in shot-put.
The students have also been recognised with major Wilcannia-Forbes Diocesan Sports Achievement Awards for 2017.
Holy Family principal Denise Gersbach said only four students in the Diocese received major awards.
“So the school is justifiably proud of these three students,” she said.
Parkes Public student Ryan Dunford was also selected on the same NSWPSSA hockey team as Tommy and so too is ranked fourth in Australia.
It was a very tight competition for the under 12s boys who won against Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia and loss to the ACT and Western Australia.
The side also lost their final match against Victoria, 1-0 – but had they of won, they would have come home with a silver.
