Parkes Pony Club held its end of year presentation on Sunday with an awards presentation followed by a water fight to cool off after packing away the equipment.

The club held 10 rally days over the year as well as a very successful clinic with Sarah Venamore which was grant funded and attracted riders from Forbes, Canowindra, Cudal and Orange.
"The riders have improved dramatically this year with a number of riders stepping up to new horses," Instructor Kim Moore said.
"We all gained a lot of new skills during the clinic which we have continued to work on during the rally days".
Parkes Pony Club would like to acknowledge the Parkes Farm Centre for their generous support of the prizes for the riders this year as well as their support in previous years.
The award winners for 2017 were: Tylah Mapperson with 100% attendance; Ruby Moore with the Garment Family Trophy for overall improvement; Lucy Chapman with the Trevor Russell Memorial Trophy; Lara Bennett with the Kinsella Family Trophy for the most successful flat rider; Sophia Burns with the Macca Trophy; Tylah Mapperson with the Lochinch Pony Stud Trophy for best presentation across the year; Lucy Chapman with the Nat Orr Memorial Trophy for perserverance; Ruby Moore with the Junior Member of the Year; Lara Bennett with the Reg Baker Trophy for Junior Rider in Action; Tylah Mapperson with the Grady Family Trophy for Senior Rider in Action and Sophia Burns with the Keith Jones Memorial Trophy. Other members of the club were awarded with vouchers donated by the Parkes Farm Centre and included Tori Bennett and Ashleigh Smith.
Parkes Pony Club AGM will be held on February 1 at the club grounds - everyone welcome to come along and see what happens at pony club.
