Smashers division winner was the enthusiastic Harry Simpson with Gemmah Neilsen having a super term to finish runner-up. Good friends Faith Clarke and Tia Dunn were both undefeated and played each other in the final match of the comp to determine the winner of the Orange division.
Faith won their match and collected the winners trophy while both girls were excited when Helen announced they would both move onto the full court division next term after excellent performances this competition.
The singles and doubles division was hard fought throughout all rounds and in the final played last week it was Gabe Goodrick and Jack Rice who prevailed and defeated the new and improved combination of Molly Kennedy and Koby Wirth. The lucky draw prize of a Babolat tennis hat donated by Helen Magill went to a very happy Jack Rice.
The next competition will start October 10 with the addition of a Red ball division which will be played on a Red size court under the guidance of some of the players in the performance and development squads. This will form another addition to the junior development pathway of orange, green and yellow ball divisions. Names for all comp divisions to Helen by October 2.
ANZHOTSHOTS: Today will be the final day for Hotshots for term three due to the session missed with the Parkes Show. All other HotShots groups finished last week. The next eight week HotShots program will start October 9 and finish in November. Each session runs for half an hour.
CHS TENNIS: Well done to Parkes juniors Yasmin Potts, Phoebe Potts, Hannah Potts, Holly McColl and Maddy McCormick who represented Western last week at the CHS Open girls carnival in Wagga Wagga and had a superb week finishing in fourth place; the most successful campaign for at least 20 years.
