August Muster:
What a delight it was to see Life Members Paddy Molloy and Ray Lassere perform for us.
They’ve still got it!
And with lower than usual numbers of performers on the day, these two gentlemen happily filled in with extra numbers to help fill up the afternoon’s program.
We didn’t hear any complaints from the appreciative audience.
The backing band on the day comprised another Life Member Brian Collits on drums, Gary Hollier (Dubbo), Pam Byrne (Molong) on bass and Lindy Charlton on accordion.
Other artists to perform were Bruce Toole, Kevin Spice, Jock Charlton, Lindy Charlton, Gary Hollier, Dale Cowell, and the Charlton girls Sarah, Hayley and Caleah who bravely sang alone with the backing band without their dad to play for them.
Donation:
During his performance Gary Hollier (Dubbo) presented the Parkes & District Country Music Association with a donation of $200 from the Orana Country Music Club to go towards staging of the 2017 2PK Parkes Central West Country Music Awards.
This is not the first time the Orana Club has given to us so generously and it is very much appreciated.
Street Stall:
Once again we had a very successful street stall and would like to thank our patrons, donors and volunteers.
