Police attended an address in Westcott Crescent at 7.30pm after reports of a domestic dispute.
Police arrived to find a smashed window and a children’s motor bike on fire in the yard.
The man had armed himself with a bottle full of petrol.
Officers were forced to physically remove the bottle from him when he refused to put it down.
He was arrested and charged with threaten to cause damage, two counts of malicious damage, threaten to destroy property, and possess an article with intent to destroy property.
He was refused bail and will appear in Parkes Local Court on August 21.

Police are reminding residents not to leave valuables in their cars and to always lock their vehicles when left unattended after a spate of thefts overnight on Monday.
Ten vehicles were broken into in the east Parkes area, in Barton, Hume, Want and East Streets.
Wallets, electronic devices and small amounts of cash were stolen.
Some of the vehicles were unlocked, and windows were smashed to gain entry to locked vehicles.
