Despite the tough conditions, 15 of the 21 pairings finished with positive scores.
Unfortunately for the two Parkes teams, neither of them finished in the positive in the fourball versus par event.
Paul Thomas and David Whitfield finished square while Phil Barnard and Denis Howard had a day they would rather forget, finishing minus one.
West Wyalong teams claimed both the major awards, handling the local conditions better than the visitors.
Winners of the scratch award were Barry Duncan and Paul Redman with a combined 76 off the stick.
Forbes pair Andrew Dukes and Michael Spice were defeated on a countback for the runners-up spot, a position eventually filled by Ben Sams and Phillip Nielsen.
Handicap winners and NSW Keno Fourball qualifiers were West Wyalong’s Chris and Robert Fealy.
The pair blew the competition out of the water with an amazing +12 score, some five shots better than their nearest challenger.
They will now head to Bonville Golf Resort, near Coffs Harbour, widely acknowledged as one of the best golf courses in Australia.
If they can repeat their +12 performance on the north coast, they will go very close to winning the event.
