Despite playing two players short the Boars went into half time only one try down 24-17 to the home side.
The Emus at home with a full team were stunned by the tenacity and toughness of the visiting Boars side.
The Emus scored first but the Boars soon replied when a dropped ball by the home side was toed through by Chris Sellings to score for their first try.
Brendan Bennet added the extras and Parkes led 7-5.
Mackenzie Green was at his best and made plenty of attacking runs and was great at the breakdowns.
Jock Wright also had a strong game and was invaluable in seeing Parkes on the attack throughout the first half.
Emus used their big forwards to barge over for a try taking the score to 12-7.
From the kick off Jason Lowe’s solid defence bundled Emus into touch.
A knock on by the Emus gave Parkes another scoring opportunity.
James Sellings used his boot to gain another 40 metres.
However Emus hit back and scored out wide 17-7.
Although on the defence Brendan Bennet read the play beautifully and intercepted an Emus pass to score again for the Boars.

Another try to the Emus was again replied with the Boars attacking through their back line.
Pat Jones beating four defenders with some strong running to score for the Boars to take the score at half time 27-17.
The Emus came out fired up for the second half and the Boars defended bravely against a much bigger side.
Particularly strong in defence was Jarrod Westcott, Pat Jones, Jason Lowe and Chris Selling.
An exhausted Parkes side conceded 31 points in the second half.
Final score 55-17.
Best for Parkes were Mackenzie Green, Jarrod Westcott and Pat Jones
