With a number of ladies competing in the annual western Districts ladies Golf Association Rose Bowl, nobody in the reduced field could match their handicap in the 18 hole stableford event sponsored by Parkes Golf Club.
In another exciting competition, a four-way countback was needed to determine the victor.
Winner was Margaret Hogan with 34 points, beating Colleen Flynn, Ann Berkeley and Kaye Jones via a countback.
Dale Matthews was the final ball winner with 33 points.
Nearest the pins were Dale Matthews (Lyn Rogan sponsored 1st), Liz Matthews (Parkes Pharmacy 4th), Glynis Conroy (Telescope Tyres and Batteries 6th), Ann Berkeley (Parkes Services Club 11th) and Margaret Hogan (Railway Hotel 15th).
Frankie Cock’s fortunes changed dramatically as she claimed the Ann Goodie award.
Last Wednesday’s 18 hole stroke event sponsored by Jenny Hoy was taken out by Adrianne Brown with a nett score of 73.
She beat Glynis Conroy and Leonie Thompson, both on 74, followed by Lois Godden 76, Marrgaret Hogan 78, and Ann Berkeley 79.
