Prior to presenting the winners Peter Dixon expressed delight in how members enjoyed the event being played to conditions that proved easy to apply but hard to succeed at.
Dixon said the event proved that any combination of players could succeed, but applying the playing conditions was the important decision especially when all players had to use the groups low, middle and highest handicapped player on six occasions.
In a brilliant display the team of Luke Clarke, Todd Jayet and Todd Barrow combined solidly to record a great 96 points. The winning team will now move on to the Regional final.
Luke Clarke congratulated the organising and event sponsors for their initiative in bringing this type of golf to the club and also stressed more members should embrace the game.
Nearest the Pin victors saw Lindsay Elliott at 2850mm on the 1st, Dub Rodgers snared both the 4th and the Money Hole at 600mms.
Ross Smith was delighted to see his ball finish just 250mm from the pin on the 6th and on the back nine Peter Picker at 1890mms was victorious on the 11th.
On the final Par 3, the difficult 15th, no member managed to land on the green so this will jackpot to four balls this Saturday.
Saturday’s final two awards the Nearest the Pins on the 9th and the 18th in two shots saw Dub Rodgers victorious at 1500mm on the 9th and John Green at a close 1970mms on the 18th.
