Net Result sit atop the table after an impressive six set win over Spin’n’Win last Tuesday night.
Brenden Weekes is leading by example and has his younger players Abbey Kennedy and Maddy McCormick striving to do their best each week.
Terminetters and Smash Hits had a good match with Graeme Tanswell and Julian Fyfe battling out a 6/5 result in Graeme’s favour after some blistering rallies.
Angela Porter will be out to complete her singles sets after having commanding leads the last two weeks but being run down by younger opponents. Joseph Tanswell showed why you should never give in when Ange lead 5/2 and he clawed his way back to score a 6/5 win. Joe Doyle was no match for Hannah Tanswell with Hannah showing some nice depth and variation.
Terminetters went on to win 5 sets to 1.
A great battle was evident between Top Shelf and Teen-Aces. Irsan Yong was a nice replacement for Sheridan Kirk and he had a hard earned 6/4 win over Hannah Potts while team captain Michael green had to work hard to defeat Phoebe Potts 6/4. Young Cody Kirk rounded out a clean sweep in the singles with a 6/4 win over Holly McColl.
Matt King has been a valuable sub this term in comp and it is very much appreciated by those players who cannot make it. Matt took on Scott Knights and Scott just got the edge 6/4 but Olivia Dolbel scored a super win for Volleys team with a 6/5 against Kurt Matthews.
Lyndal Matthews is having a great term and playing consistent tennis and this showed once again with a 6/1 win over Camilia Brown to give her side Davis Cup a 4 sets to 2 victory.
Trev’s Troopers were on fire last week when they had the young Deuce Bags team in a spin. Wasn’t necessarily from their tennis skills but their outstanding sledging. Lachy Tassell, Harry Dawson and Ben Evans were in stitches of laughter during the evening and Trev’s Troopers took full advantage winning 4 of the 6 sets.
Full of Excuses and JAG played a match of high quality last week. The Line 1 and 2 doubles match was a ripper with Jake Thompson and Andrew Rice taking on Andrew Hayne and Gary Morgan. Jake had to get his big first serves out of the box while Gary was trying to use his experience on the doubles court. It was Jake and Andrew who won in the end 6/5 and along with team captain Helen Standen scored a 5 sets to 1 win over former competition winners team JAG.

PSSA KNOCKOUT-
Parkes Public school tennis team Gabe Goodrick, Joseph Tanswell, Cody Kirk, Ellen Dolbel and Molly Kennedy travelled to Forbes last week where they had a successful morning on court defeating Forbes Public. They now move on to round 3 of the Victor Kelly Trophy where they will come up against a very tough Dubbo South team next week.
LITHGOW JDS-
Abbey Kennedy, Olivia and Ellen Dolbel travelled to Lithgow last week and all three played well. Abbey defeated Olivia in the final of the 14 and under girls event while Ellen made the semis of the 12s division.
DUBBO JDS-
On Sunday Dubbo held the latest round of the Central West Junior Development Series. Jake Magill, Ben Evans and Ethan Hunt represented in the boys while Holly McColl, Abbey Kennedy, Molly Kennedy and Ellen Dolbel played in the girls divisions. There was plenty of match play for all players and each individually focused on something they have been working on in their training during their matches.
Jake and Ben played a sizzling final of high quality in the 16s after Ben had won a tight semi final. Ben pushed Jake all the way and to Jake’s credit he changed his strategy and forced Ben into error in the latter stages of the set. Jake went on to win 6/3.
Holly claimed the win over Abbey after a lacklustre final in the 14s. Neither player was at their best but it was Holly who was a little more consistent this time round and deserved her victory.
Ellen and Molly enjoyed a tough final in the 12s which see-sawed. Ellen prevailed after both players showed some nice skills to take the win 6/3.
Ethan Hunt continues to improve his understanding of the game and will enjoy more practise sessions before Parkes JDS on April 2nd. Ethan did very well to make the semi finals in the 10s.
PARKES JDS-
April 2nd is the date set for the Parkes Junior Development Series tournament and anyone playing in junior comp or senior comp aged 9yrs-18yrs can play. It is singles only and all entries must be made online by March 29th.
