Billy scored the opening try for Penrith in his side’s 25-10 victory over the Illawarra Steelers.
The side from the foot of the mountains will now play the winners of the Mal Maninga Cup which is being played in Brisbane this Sunday.
Down 4-0 early, Billy’s try was the beginning of a strong Penrith performance which saw the young Panthers score 24 unanswered points.
The Parkes junior’s four-pointer got his side back on track after the back-rower produced a powerful run which the Steelers were unable to combat.
Billy’s efforts saw him gain special mention in the Daily Telegraph as a standout in the match.
Due to his very impressive performances, Billy has also won selection in the NSW Under 18 train-on squad that will play a curtain-raiser before Game 2 of the State of Origin series.
Head coach Brad Fittler named the 27 man Under 18s squad, which was selected by the NSWRL Talent ID team and Fittler, following the Harold Matthews and SG Ball grand finals.
The final Under 18s side will be revealed on Saturday, June 11.
With the SG Ball competition now over, Billy has commenced training with the strong Penrith National Youth Competition squad, and got some game time last weekend.
In his first game, amazingly Billy ran in five tries as part of his side’s 74-10 drubbing of the Warriors.
He will also represent the Sydney Independent Catholic Colleges side to play at St Mary’s in the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges trials.
Billy signed with the Panthers last year and moved there to be involved with the NRL club last November.
