Last Friday saw the Parkes ladies team travel to Orange to play Wentworth in the first round of the Western District Ladies Golf Association Pennants competition.

Parkes’ team consisted of Lynne Guise, Kaye Jones, Anita Medcalf, Marg Hogan and Leone Stevenson.
They had a good 3-2 win over the more fancied Wentworth side.
Wins by Lynne, Anita and Leone saw Parkes claim a great away win, putting them in a strong position for the return match at Parkes.
Captain Colleen Flynn proved pivotal by providing transport, caddying and positive chats.
Excellent golfing conditions last Wednesday saw nine teams line up for the four ball aggregate Stableford sponsored by Kaye Jones.
Winners on 76 points were Sue Holman and Cath Kelly with Kaye Jones and Lynne Guise runners-up on 74.
Individual winner was Sue Holman with a fantastic 43 points.
Ball winners were Dawn Wakefield and Chris Stait (71), and Glynis Conroy and Colleen Flynn (64).
Nearest the pins were Colleen Flynn (1st and 11th), Liz Mathews (4th), Jenny Hoy (6th), and Chris Stait (15th).
Lone Pine Contracting Award was won by Lorraine Maxwell.
Saturday’s rain kept some of the women away for the three person ambrose sponsored by Brian Hogan and Darren Cock.
The weather did not stop a fantastic score of 61.5 nett recorded by the team of Colleen Flynn, Leone Stevenson and Ame Walker.
Ball winners were Lynne Guise, Kaye Jones and Kasey Fay-Rice.
Nearest the pins were Margaret Hogan (1st), Liz Mathews (4th), Leone Stevenson (6th), Kay Jones (11th) and Lynne Guise (15th).
This Wednesday and Saturday is the second Golf NSW Medal and Club Medal stroke event, with putting in conjunction, sponsored by Wayne Butler at Parkes Golf Shop.
