A grass fire near Peak Hill destroyed some motor vehicle parts and a small boat just after midnight last Wednesday.

At approximately 12.15am, the grass fire broke out in a paddock at the corner of Gosper’s Lane and the Newell Highway.
The car parts, chassis and small boat were all in the paddock and were destroyed before RFS personnel could control the blaze.
At this stage it is unsure what started the fire, but police believe it was not deliberately lit.

A 50 year old Parkes woman was issued an infringement notice for allegedly being in possession of a stolen toilet seat last Saturday.
At about 6pm, neighbours saw two people leave a residence in Currajong Street with the toilet seat.
They contacted local police who intercepted the pair based upon the description given them by the concerned neighbour.
The woman was issued an infringement notice for having stolen goods in custody.
