Last Saturday the Parents and Citizens held the 2015 Debutante Ball in the Memorial Hall.

Everyone was welcomed to the ball by Mrs Maureen Turner who very capably compered the presentation of the debutantes to Mrs Fran Rowe and her husband Peter, and Mrs Margaret Greig and her husband George all of Tottenham.
The main flower girl was Zanthie Hewett who is the daughter of Sandra and Darren Hewett of Tottenham and the page boy was Jack Baker, the son of Jane and Roger Baker of Albert.
The first debutante was Hannah Smith partnered by Hayden Makim.
Hannah is the eldest daughter of Wanita and Ricky Smith of Tottenham.
Hayden is the son of Michelle Owen of Tottenham and Geoff Makim of Moree.
Hannah’s flower-girl was Charli Johnson the eldest daughter of Belinda Fitzgerald and Shannon Johnson of Tottenham.
Bridget Bennett was the second debutante. Bridget is the second daughter of Tracy and Rick Bennett and was partnered by her brother Jack Bennett of Tottenham.
Bridget’s flower girl was Lily Horsburgh the youngest daughter of Susanna and Damon Horsburgh of Tottenham.
The third debutante was Leonie Jones, the foster daughter of Coral and Robert Andrews of Tottenham.
Leonie was partnered by Michael Barnett of Tottenham. Michael is the son of Sally and Brendan Barnett of Tottenham.
Leonie’s flower-girl was Ciara Anderson, the daughter of Kelly and Clayton Anderson of Tottenham.
The three debutantes cut the beautiful cake.
The three girls made suitable speeches and Mr Rick Bennett, President of the Parents and Citizens also made a speech.
The debs and their partners then danced the swing waltz.
Mrs Margaret Hewett taught them to dance this particular dance.
The parents were then invited to dance the Pride of Erin with the debs and their partners.
Finally the debs were given a sash by Margaret and Fran.
The hall was decorated beautifully with fairy lights and tulle.
Nola Everingham made the lovely bouquets and flower decorations.
In all it was a very successful ball thanks to the wonderful training and organising of Lynette Jarvis and her helpers.
