Billy was a member of the Western Rams Under 16s side that played in the NSW Country Rugby League Championships in Wollongong during the June long weekend.
Billy played strongly in both attack and defence.
His hard running, offloading and punishing defence helped lay the foundations for the Rams convincing victories over the Central Coast Centurions and the Southern Redbacks to advance to the finals in Tamworth.
Although beaten by the Greater Northern Tigers in a game where things didn’t go Western’s way, Billy cemented his spot in the NSW Country side with his performances.
Billy and Red Bend’s Matt Woolnough became the two inaugural Country representatives for the strong Lachlan Junior Rugby League as the concept has only been going for the last two years.
Billy plays his club football with Parkes Marist junior rugby league and also the Parkes Spacemen Under 18s when available.
At the end of this year, he will commence pre-season training with the Newcastle Knights SG Ball side which will be made up by most of the victorious Harold Mathews side that went on to win the national final against Queensland.
Billy returns to Parkes next Sunday, hopefully after a successful two games.
