The Camel Races raises money every year for the local community and is a family-friendly event with jumping castles, petting zoos and market stalls.
The novelty Gopher (electric mobility carts) Race is set to add even more fun and excitement to the packed program.
After the recent floods in Forbes, Police within the Lachlan LAC have decided to band together by preparing a special hotted up Evil Kenevil style gopher for the event.
They hope all other emergency services such as the SES, RFS, Fire and Rescue NSW and the Ambulance Service will join in the fun by entering.
It is also seen as a way for all services to get together and thank one-another for their excellent multi-agency response to the recent flood crisis.
Probationary Constable Shunt Yessayan is the nominated police ‘STIG’ who hopes to `blow the competition away.’
All other services interested in participating is urged to contact Leigh Marsh (Forbes Camel Races committee) on 0414 682 754.
All participants are urged to put on a costume or decorate the gopher.
“Bring along a tent, the family and enjoy a great day this Good Friday,” Leigh said.
