The Parkes Services Club and McPherson Parts and Services sponsored Mini League Tag played a great game on the weekend against a strong Grenfell side. The girls started with strong runs by Zahlee Terrill, Sharla Parker-Lee, Isabella Terrill and Corby Fliedner. The girls defence held strong with Leah Hayward and Charli Milne defending great. Try scorers on the day were Charli and Leah with two each, Sharla with 3, Corby and Isabella with 4 each.
Junior League Tag
The Parkes Services Club and McPhersons Parts and Service sponsored Junior League Tag Girls played a hard fought win against a well drilled Grenfell team in perfect conditions on Saturday. The defending efforts from Grace Milne, Leah Hayward, Isabella Terrill and Elizabeth MacGregor were great, supported by the attacking raids by Nell Smith, Jazmen Terrill, Grace MacGregor, Chelsea Skinner and Jade Coulston. The girls will need to fine tune their attack and defence training this week for the up coming match against ladder leaders West Wyalong.
Final score was 24-20. Try scorers were Jazmen Terrill, Elizabeth and Grace MacGregor with one each, Nell Smith with two and successful conversions made by Jaz Terrill and Grace Milne with one each.
Senior League Tag
Bob skinner Painting and Decorating sponsored Senior League Tag girls had a win on Saturday against Grenfell. Tries were scored by Cassandra Ward (3), Daisy Burns (1) and Jorja Simpson (1). Successful conversions were kicked by Rebekka Choyce (2) giving Parkes 24 points to Grenfell 12.
Under 14’s
With only a few rounds left in the competition Sportspower Under 14’s are holding their spot in the top four, after a strong win against Grenfell on Saturday. Tries were scored by Mac Rauchle (2), Kaid Lydford (1), Jai Thompson (1), Austin MacGregor (1), Toby Miller (3) and Bayden Moran (6). Conversions were successful by Kaid Lydford with eight successful kicks. Strong defence ensured Grenfell didn’t score. Jackson Parker-Lee, Dyaln Woods, Kade Crisp and Alex DeLacy worked tirelessly tackling. Charlie Oraha, Mason Leedham, Wilson Duffy and Richard Butt-Anderson supported our try scorers with solid runs and hit-ups. Final score Parkes 72 – Grenfell 0.
Under 16’s
Brian Collins Smash Repairs Under 16 had a win 70 – 8 against Grenfell last Saturday. Tries were scored by Finnley Neilsen (2), Billy Simpson (3), Jack Smith (3), Marty Hennock (1), Cody Crisp (1), Sakiasi Sodrodro (Dodo – 1), Eden Lydford (1) and Harrison Pearn (2). Conversions were successful by Finnley Neilsen (1), Dustin Ticehurst(1), Jack Smith(3) and Michael Riley (7).
Parkes play at home on Saturday and host a Group X1 Gala Day on Sunday at Pioneer Oval.
Sunday Gala Day will see 10am kick off at Pioneer Oval, Parkes (gold coin donation at the gate to cover referee).
