Junior League Tag
Ex-services Club and McPhersons Spare Parts Mod League tag Girls came up against a very strong unbeaten West Wyalong side, unfortunately going down 48/14. The game was closer than the score showed with all the girls making great runs with the ball in hand and trying their best in defence. A big mention to Jaz Terrill on her 3 try effort and Grace Milne for her conversion. Thank you to the mini league tag Girls who backed up and played their second game for the day
Under 8s
The French Taste Bakery Under 8s only had 4 players travell to West Wyalong on the weekend. Many thanks to the three Under 7s who put their hand up to help out, that was great. Lekeisha Meers had a great game making lots of awesome runs and was very excited to score her first ever try. Aiden O'keefe scored 2 tries and successfully converted one of them. Xavier Ward and Jett Clarke were the others lucky enough to cross the line again this week. Was great to see under 7s boys Carter Moran who was exceptional in defence step up and help out in the 8s along with Jaxon Clarke who debut in his first game of football earlier in the Under 7’s. Jaxon and Carter loved filling the gaps for the Under 8s. Taj Harrison and Ollie Monkerude gave their best playing for the 8’s. Great game!
Under 10’s
Andrew Thomas Builder Under 10s had a disappointing result on Saturday against West Wyalong. The score certainly did not reflect the amazing game the boys played.
Awesome defence by the team with particular mention to one of our younger players who backed up after playing the U9s to help out the U10s, Jaylin Moran! He scored 2 of our 4 tries, with a try going to Jaylen Kelly. Great work, Ryan Whitney who scored his first ever try. The Boys had some unlucky calls against them going down 28-22.
Man of the match going to Jaylen Kelly
Good luck this week boys against Red Bend
Under 12’s
K & H Earthmoving Under 12s produced a truly stunning game of football against a usually strong West Wyalong side. West Wyalong kicked off. With ball in hand, Parkes showed that Will McEwens pre-game pump up in the sheds was a cracker, the boys definitely listened! They started to dominate which they held onto throughout the entire match. Parkes ran the ball with extreme determination and West Wyalong found them hard to stop. When the Mallee men had the ball they were getting man handled with perfect tackling technique and aggression - never seen before out of these young gentlemen. The boys are really starting to play like a team with precise off loads and massive long balls which set up two of the sides six tries. All the boys played out of their skin but a special mention has to go to the U12’s newcomers and the youngsters of the side Deegan Ingram, Ashley Hayward, Sterling Green and Hunter Green.
Tries: Oliver Thomas x 2, Joe Monk x 2, Marley Moran and Jack Milne
Conversions: Toby Cox, Bob McEwen, Joe Monk, Marley Moran and Jack Milne
Final Score Parkes 36 - West Wyalong 4
