Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW, Parkes Rural Fire Service and Parkes Police were on scene after a car caught alight and started a grass fire.
Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW with the help of Parkes Rural Fire Service extinguished the blaze.
Approximately half a hectare of grass was burnt in a paddock adjacent to Hartigan Avenue.
The road was closed to traffic while the fire was brought under control.
The west bound lane was opened under traffic control to help ease congestion.
A Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said the quick response of both brigades shows just how effectively the two fire services work together.
