The church members have been hosting the free home-cooked meals on the first Monday of every month, with their first taking place on July 3.
Last Monday, December 4 the members held their last gathering – a Christmas meal, complete with plenty of festive spirit – for 2017.
It all began as a new way to reach out to and help the local community.
Their first monthly meal saw more than 40 people attend the church in Court Street, Parkes.
Soon the numbers were reaching above 60.
Since their November gathering, the Uniting Church has now been catering for 80 people, which includes feeling the church volunteers.
The members are thrilled their gathering is helping so many people in Parkes.
Volunteer Graeme MacRaild said the monthly get together was not only helping those in need of a meal or a bit of support, but those who wanted some company too.
The Parkes Uniting Church will continue their service in 2018, as they are still trialling the idea for a remaining six months.
Anyone wishing to join them once a month on a Monday are invited attend the church in Court Street between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
