The Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay will arrive in Parkes on Monday, January 29 and complete a leg of its journey throughout Parkes before being celebrated at the Parkes Aquatic centre from 4pm to 7pm.

There will be free entry to the aquatic centre for the occasion.
On its journey around Parkes it will visit Memorial Hill, the Bushmans Hill Amphitheatre, Main Street, Cooke Park and the aquatic centre.
Batonbearers for the Parkes leg of the journey are Rebeckah Auld, Peter Bristol, Frances Dixon, Amanda Draper, Barry Garment, Darrin Gibson, Michael Greenwood, Nicayden Greenwood, mayor Ken Keith OAM, Tim Keith, Helen Magill, Maureen Massey, Richard Rice, Victoria Simpson and Barbara Weaver.
After travelling an astonishing 288 days throughout the Commonwealth, the Queen’s Baton arrives in Australian on December 24, having shared the dream of GC2018 with over one third of the world’s population.
From its arrival until January 24, 2018, the Queen’s Baton will engage with thousands of Australians at popular summertime events, iconic locations and children’s hospitals around the country, starting in Melbourne on Boxing Day.
The Queen’s Baton will scale Sydney Harbour Bridge, celebrate the Taste of Tasmania festival, be a part of the tennis action in Perth and Brisbane, hit the roads at the Tour Down Under in South Australia.
