Cambridge won by 104 runs.
Cambridge, courtesy of some fine performances by experienced players in Clinton Hawke and Shane Jones, cruised to a comfortable 104 run victory over Colts.
Batting first Cambridge were in a degree of trouble when the score stood at 4/54 after losing some key wickets including master blaster Anthony Heraghty for 36 (with one six and two fours).
The situation was rectified by a 65 run 5th wicket partnership between Shane Jones (31 with one four) and Clinton Hawke (62 with three sixes and three fours).
These two players again demonstrated why they are still rated in the top echelon of local senior players in the Parkes district.
Cambridge eventually totalled 7/181 after their allocated 40 overs, Blake Smith (3/24) and Brent Tucker (1/23) led the way for Colts.
In reply, Colts were never able to get on top of a keen Cambridge bowling attack. Rapidly improving Cambridge speedster Jonah Ruzgas (2/15), along with Billy Porter (3/6) and Gary Dukes-Rankmore (3/13) caused plenty of problems for the Colts batting line-up.
Blake Smith (30) top scored for Colts. Next Saturday, Cambridge will play Cowra Valleys at Woodward Oval and Colts face Canowindra in Cowra.
