Emergency services were called to Weelong Place, Forbes, about 1.20am on Sunday after a 31-year-old man was found injured on the front lawn of a premises.

He was taken to Forbes Hospital with significant head injuries but was pronounced dead later in the morning.

A crime scene was established and detectives from Lachlan Local Area Command commenced inquiries under Strike Force Heinrich.

About 3.40pm, police arrested a 37-year-old man at a home on Show Street, Forbes.

He was taken to Forbes police station where he was charged with murder.

Police allege the man was involved in a violent confrontation with the victim prior to his death.

He was refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court on Monday.

EARLIER: A MAN has died after he was found with head injuries at a home in Forbes this morning.
