Police and SafeWork NSW have confirmed a 48-year-old man has died following the B-double truck incident in Boyd Circuit yesterday.
Just after 10.30am on Sunday, October 22, emergency services attended an industrial area in Parkes and found the man deceased.
Initial inquiries suggest that the man was working when he was injured by a rolling vehicle.
A crime scene was established.
NSW Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
Safework NSW will investigate the incident.
“SafeWork NSW is conducting inquiries following the death of a 48-year-old man in Parkes yesterday (Sunday 22 October 2017),” a SafeWork NSW spokesperson said.
“As this is the subject of an ongoing investigation, no further details are available at this time.”
Sunday, October 22, 2pm:
There has been an incident involving a B-double truck in the Parkes Industrial Estate today.
The incident occurred in Boyd Circuit, where the 26 metre B-double and its flat top trailers mounted the kerb and came to a stop at a mound of dirt.
Parkes police are on scene and have closed the road as investigations continue.
It is understood the incident occurred this morning and is being treated as an industrial accident.
A NSW Ambulance helicopter was called to the area, departing about 1.10pm. Its destination is unknown at this stage.
It is also unknown what injuries have been sustained to the driver or anyone else who may have been involved.
