Happy Birthday: Father Brian celebrated his 70th birthday on Saturday 14th October with a party at the Trundle Golf Club. He had invited 100 people to help him celebrate but he jokingly said he had catered for 200 to come as he knew more would attend the festivities. It started at 7pm and was a big BBQ. There will be all the news of the night next week.
Trundle Central School: This term is the NO HAT NO PLAY term. Students MUST wear a wide brimmed hat and if they don’t have one they will not be able to participate in any outdoor activities, including lunch time play. There is a small selection of spare hats for those students who accidently forget their hats. These hats are washed regularly and are not to be used by the same students every day. We will endeavour to call parents to let them know their child has forgotten their hat so that it can be found. Please make sure you put your child’s name inside their hat.
Do you have an old wagon wheel that you do not need anymore? Our stage 4 French class is looking for a wagon wheel to make a new French herb garden at school. If you have one you no longer need we would love to use it for our project. Please contact the school on 6892 1303. Thank you, Mrs Budd.

The Royal Far West and Trundle Sunshine Club: There are many young people in the area who are unsure what the Royal Far West is all about – and what is the Sunshine Club.
Well, a brief history. It all started back in 1924, when the Reverend Stanley Drummond came up with the idea of bringing children from the outback of NSW to holiday by the sea and he bought property in 1929 to provide accommodation for the children.
The Royal Far West arrived in the Parkes area in 1939, with the Trundle Branch opening a short time later, as a branch of the main office in Parkes. So the Royal Far West and Sunshine Club have been in Trundle for many years.
The Sunshine Club runs many functions during the year – street stalls, bingo games, an Old Time Dance (which is a great afternoon in the Trundle Memorial Hall). We have an Easter Ball ever second Easter, also a Fashion Parade/Wine Tasting afternoon tea and various other fundraising activities.
Volunteers of Trundle Branch operate an Op Shop in the main street of Trundle, which is open five days a week – 9.30am to 3pm and 9.00am to 12.00pm Saturday. The money raised from the Op Shop is used to provide the “Come N See” Speech and Language program in the local schools, at no cost to the parents, but with an immense help to students with language problems.
