The event has been sold out to a crowd of 207 people, with tickets selling out last Friday.
The Parkes Chamber of Commerce is very excited for the night ahead as they prepare to host one of their biggest awards yet.
Chamber treasurer and one of the organisers Belinda McCorkell said they’ve had a greater number of nominations and more people attending than their last awards in 2015.
“There’s more diversity – we have more industrial businesses [taking part]...it’s no longer just about retail,” she said.
Belinda said the night was also an an opportunity for businesses to create new networks.
The awards will feature the presence of dignitaries Parliamentary Secretary for Western NSW Rick Colless, State Member for Orange Phil Donato and Federal Member for the Riverina Michael McCormack.
“We’re pretty excited to have three politicians attend,” Belinda said.
“[Mr McCormack] is the Small Business Minister so he’ll be presenting the Business of the Year Award.”
Belinda has attributed the popularity of these awards to the Chamber being more proactive in promoting and rebranding the event.
“It’s no longer called the Sir Henrys, we’ve renamed it The Henrys and we’ve made the awards annual,” Belinda said.
“We’ve realigned ourselves with the NSW Business Chamber and [their annual awards], which allows businesses the opportunity to move onto a state and national level.
“[Annual awards] keep that momentum going...not fade and come back in two years’ time...there’s lots of things happening in Parkes.”
