It is with sadness we note the death of Bernard (Bernie) Crowley, who died on Wednesday, September 7, 2017.
He was the dearly loved husband of Delia, and the much loved father and father-in-law of Laurence and Margaret, Jeanette and Peter Black, Sue, Pam, Marie-Louise and Geoff Burton, and Gary and Ruth. He was the loving grandfather of Philip, Elizabeth, Meghan, Emily, James, Daniel and Catherine and great grandfather of Nathan and Henry.
The funeral service was held at St Michaels’ Catholic Church, Trundle on September 13 and the cortege then moved to the Catholic Portion of the Trundle Cemetery for interment.
Breast Screens: Make an appointment for the Breast Screen Truck which will be at the Hospital on October 5-6, 9th and 10th. If you would like to make an appointment so as not to miss out then call 13 20 50.
Trundle Pony Club: Several of our members braved the icy conditions to compete at the 107th Trundle Show on Wednesday, August 16 while their parents helped out at the ring and show jumping.
Tiarne, Laura and Jorja Rusten competed in the show jumping while Phoebe Wright rode in the ring events before they all joined Blair MacDonald to compete in the sporting events in the afternoon.
There was some fast times and lots of ribbons as the riders were still primed from competing at our Winter Woollies Weekend less than a fortnight ago.
A big thanks to the Trundle Show Society for putting on junior, local and sporting events which the riders all love to compete in. Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 28.
Trundle Footy
Trundle has been behind the Boomers, Youth League and First Grade, all the way and many stores have decorated their windows to wish the boys good luck and show their support.
The Trundle Royal Far West Op Shop was one whose ladies decorated their window with a great display of mannequins dressed in Boomer gear.
Popping in to take a closer look during the week were Jess Durning and Adam Hall (Captain/Coach) and the photos show the fellows looking very comfortable with the mannequins.
The whole town took off to Condobolin for the game on Sunday and they weren’t disappointed. The first grade team were the winners – 36 to 12, with Mahe Fangupo man of the match.
Although the Youth League didn’t win, it was still a great effort and you did make the grand final, boys. There’s always next year.
Congratulations to both teams
The 2017 Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday, October 6 at 7pm at the Trundle Services and Citizens Club. All community members, sponsors and players are invited to attend. Trundle Junior Rugby League are looking to reform and are seeking expressions of interest for the 2018 season
Pending numbers, Trundle JRL will participate in the Lachlan District competition which consists of teams from Parkes, Forbes, Condobolin, West Wyalong, Grenfell, Molong, Canowindra. Considering it has been 3 years since Trundle JRL last participated in this competition, a strong commitment is needed from both players & parent volunteers.
The club is also working with CRL/NRL to develop modified competitions to enable smaller communities like Trundle to consistently field junior teams.
Potential Teams: Under 7s, 8s for boys and girls. Under 10s and 12s boys and girls, Junior League Tag (Girls aged 9-12), Senior League Tag (Girls aged 13-16) and under 14s boys and under 16s boys.
