NSW TrainLink Chief Operating officer Pete Allaway announced tickets for the expanded Elvis Express service would go on sale next week, including an extra 40 seats on trains between Sydney and Parkes.
“The Elvis Express has grown in popularity since it first ran in 2006 and this will be the biggest year yet,” Mr Allaway said.
“The 2018 Festival will now be serviced by two dedicated trains, as well as two NSW TrainLink coaches converging on Parkes Station for the traditional warm welcome to town.
“This is one of NSW’s iconic regional events and the extra travel options will allow more people to get to Parkes in comfort.”
Joining the NSW TrainLink Elvis Express this year will be the “Blue Suede Express” heritage train operated by Lachlan Valley Rail, providing festival goers with the option of a luxury retro travel experience.
NSW TrainLink is also providing travel options for regional customers and from the national capital, with Elvis Express coaches departing Tamworth and Canberra.
“By adding these coach services we can open up transport to Parkes for Elvis fans in Tamworth and Canberra, as well as surrounding regional communities.” Mr Allaway said.
“Elvis fans wanting to travel to the Festival are encouraged to book early as tickets for the Elvis Express train normally sell out within hours of going on sale.”
